This Aerospace Material Specification covers the requirements for electroless nickel coatings. Production or quality control requirements generally require that the parts being coated be tested for conformance to AMS-C-26074. However, some parts (due to shape or size) can't be tested. In those cases, the specification describes 'separate specimens' that are plated together with the other parts and then tested at the end of the plating process for conformance.
The following is a list of tests in Specification SAE AMS-C-26074 that use separate test specimens. Click on the test method number for more information about specimens required for each test.
SAE AMS-C-26074 §4.3.2 Separate Test Specimens SAE AMS-C-26074 §4.5.2 Adhesion Test SAE AMS-C-26074 §4.5.3 Hardness Test
SAE AMS-C-26074 §4.5.4 Embrittlement Relief (see ASTM F519)
SAE AMS-C-26074 superseded MIL-C-26074 and MIL-DTL-26074. To learn more about this specification, click HERE.
