ASTM B117 Test Specimens

Test specimens used in ASTM B117 (Salt Spray (Fog) Apparatus). These test panels are also referred to as corrosion test panels or mass loss panels. The NSS (neutral salt spray) standard calibration test panel is 3" x 5" x 0.032", and is made from 1008 cold-rolled mild steel. 
The test panel material and dimensions may vary depending on the end product specification. Other standard panel sizes include 2" x 4" (compare ASTM D1748), 4" x 6", and 3" x 10". Customized test panels and specimens are available on request.
