ASTM B633 Separate Test Specimens

Separate test specimens used to evaluate plated parts as described in ASTM B633 (Electrodeposited Coatings of Zinc on Iron and Steel). These specimens (also called panels) are made from the same alloy as the iron or steel parts that are being coated. ASTM B633 defines three types of separate test specimens:
 
Thickness and Adhesion Specimens: 25 mm x 100 mm x 1 mm (1" x 4" x 0.039")
Corrosion Resistance Specimens: 100 mm x 150 mm x 1 mm (4" x 6" x 0.039")
Hydrogen Embrittlement Specimens: configuration defined by purchaser
