ASTM D2294 Test Specimens

Metaspec manufactures test specimens used in ASTM D2294 (Creep Properties of Adhesives in Shear by Tension Loading - Metal-to-Metal). These test specimens are similar to those used in ASTM D1002. The test specimens are bonded together at one end with the test adhesive to make one test specimen. ASTM D2294 requires three test specimens for each set of test conditions. 
 
The test specimens are usually 0.062" thick, but this can vary depending on the material or alloy. The individual test specimens are 1" x 4" and have a hole centered at one end. 
 
The standard test specimen materials are:
C110 Copper
2024 Aluminum
1008/1010 Steel
302 Stainless steel
6AL4V Titanium
