ASTM D2919 Lap Shear Specimen

Lap shear test specimens used in adhesive testing by ASTM D2919 (Determining Durability of Adhesive Joints Stressed in Shear by Tension Loading). Each test specimen measures 5" x 1" x 0.062", with a 3/16" hole centered 1/2" from one end. The test specimens are adhered in pairs at the end without a hole with a 1/2" overlap to create a lap shear specimen. ASTM D2919 requires six test specimens. These specimens can be made from any material or alloy suitable for the adhesive being tested.
