ASTM D3241 JFTOT Heater Tubes

Standard Heater Tube (a Metaspec company) manufactures JFTOT heater tubes that fully satisfy the requirements of ASTM D3241, the Jet Fuel Thermal Oxidation Stability Test. ASTM D3241 is designed to create deposits on the heater tube if there are certain types of impurities in the jet fuel. The fuel quality is rated visually by comparing the heater tube with a standard color chart under 3x magnification. A high-quality tube finish makes deposit rating easier and more consistent. 
 
​The defining feature of our product is its exceptional quality, ensured by the Standard Heater Tube patented tube finishing process that guarantees a superior surface finish. ​Other heater tube manufacturers use mechanical polishing, which leaves scratches that are clearly visible under a microscope. These scratches diffuse light, making it more difficult to see changes in color on the surface of the heater tube.​ The surface finish on Standard Heater Tube ASTM D3241 heater tubes is not scratched. This makes it more reflective, which makes it easy to detect changes in color on the surface, which is what ASTM D3241 is designed to do.
 
JFTOT heater tubes are sold in a pack of ten. Each heater tube is inspected, serial-numbered, and ready for use in the laboratory.
