ASTM D3658 Glass/Metal Adhesive Joint Specimens
Glass plate and hexagonal metal block test specimens used in adhesive testing by ASTM D3658 (Determining the Torque Strength of Ultraviolet (UV) Light-Cured Glass/Metal Adhesive Joints). The glass and metal materials are at the discretion of the user, but the test method recommends 1/2" pressed plate glass and brass, copper, aluminum, steel, stainless steel, or titanium for the metal block. The glass plate specimen is 3" x 3" x 1/2". The metal hexagonal block specimen is 1" across and 1/2" thick.
For testing, the metal block is adhered to the center of the glass plate and cured with UV radiation to create a single specimen assembly. Metaspec provides the plates and metal block specimens as separate pieces.
