ASTM D3846 In-Plane Shear Test Specimens

Notched plastic specimens used in ASTM D3846 (In-Plane Shear Strength of Reinforced Plastics). These specimens are made from reinforced thermosetting plastics. Each specimen is 1/2" x 3.13" x 0.100-0.260". The specimen has one notch or parallel cut across the width of the specimen on both sides; the notches are offset from each other per ASTM D3846 Figure 1. This test method requires five to ten specimens, depending on the material being tested.
