ASTM D4562 Pin and Collar Assembly

Pin and collar test specimens used in ASTM D4562 (Shear Strength of Adhesives) testing. This test measures the shear strength of curing liquid adhesives used for retaining cylindrical assemblies or for locking and sealing threaded fasteners. Each test specimen consists of a pin (0.498-499" diameter, 2" long) and a slip collar (1/2" ID, 0.435-439" wide). The test specimens can be made of any material, but are most commonly made of A108 steel.
 
Metaspec also makes the test specimen support (holder) described in ASTM D4562. The pin and collar assembly and the specimen holder in ASTM D4562 are identical to the assembly and specimen holder used in ISO 10123.
