ASTM D5868 Lap Shear Specimen

Plastic lap shear test specimens used in testing adhesives by ASTM D5868 (Lap Shear Adhesion for Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Bonding). Each test specimen is 1" x 4" x 0.1", and is adhered in pairs at one end with 1" overlap area; these pairs are the lap shear specimen. Each test requires five lap shear specimens. This test method is specifically desiged for fiber reinforced plastic materials, but also allows for bonding FRP to metal to create FRP/metal lap shear specimens.
