ASTM D638 Tensile Test Specimens
Plastic tensile test specimens used in testing by ASTM D638 (Tensile Properties of Plastics). ASTM D638 describes three different kinds of tensile test specimens. Sheet, plate, and molded plastics are made into flat specimens (commonly called 'dog bone' specimens for their shape) in various sizes. The different sizes of flat tensile specimens are described in ASTM D638 as Type I, Type II, Type III, Type IV, and Type V. ASTM D638 also describes a rigid tube specimen and a rigid rod specimen machined from plastic. Please describe the specimen type and the specimen material you're looking for to request a quote.
ASTM D638 supersedes FTM 1011.
