ASTM F3440 Corrosion Test Specimens

Test specimens used in testing by ASTM F3440 (Corrosion of Low-Embrittling Zinc-Nickel Plate by Aircraft Maintenance Chemicals). Each specimen is 1" x 2" x 0.048" and is made from 4130 steel. The specimens are zinc-nickel plated in accordance with SAE AMS 2417. The test method calls for three replicates for each concentration of aircraft maintenance chemicals being tested.
 
Metaspec provides these specimens with a pre-polished surface finish (not plated), or with the zinc-nickel plated finish.
