ASTM G48 Stainless Steel Corrosion Specimens

Stainless steel test specimens used in ASTM G48 (Pitting & Crevice Corrosion Resistance of Stainless Steels & Related Alloys by Use of Ferric Chloride Solution). This method outlines six test procedures to measure the corrosion resistance of stainless steels. The precise specimen size may vary based on the test conditions, but the recommended size is 1" x 2". Several of the test procedures also require a center hole in the specimen. Each specimen is deburred and polished with 120 grit. Customized test specimens for modified versions of this test method are available on request.
