ASTM C665 Test Plates

Metal test plates used in the ASTM C665 §13.8.4 corrosiveness test (Mineral-Fiber Blanket Thermal Insulation for Light Frame Construction and Manufactured Housing). This corrosion test ensures that the insulation used in residential housing will not cause excessive corrosion compared with a control substance when exposed to bare steel, aluminum and copper.
 
ASTM C665 test plates are available in all of the materials required by this specification:
1) ASTM C665 Steel Plates, 1 in x 4 in x 0.02 in (25 x 100 x 0.5 mm), bright No. 2 finish, cold-rolled low-carbon (1010) strip steel, quarter hard, temper No. 3.
2) ASTM C665 Aluminum Plates, 1 in x 4 in x 0.025 in (25 x 100 x 0.6 mm) Type 3003-0.
3) ASTM C665 Copper Plates, 1 in x 4 in x 0.02 in (25 x 100 x 0.5 mm) , in accordance with Specification B152/B152M Type ETP, No. 110 soft copper.
4) Woven Wire Screen, type 304 stainless steel, 1-1/2 in x 4-1/2 in x 0.063 in (38 x 114 x 1.6 mm), in a 7/16 in open square grid (2x2 grid)
