MIL-S-45180 §4.6.9 Corrosion Test Strips

Test strips used in testing by MIL-S-45180 §4.6.9 (Corrosion). This test uses test strips made from six different metals: tinned iron, steel, aluminum, cast iron, brass, and copper. Each test strip is 3.5" x 1/2" x 1/8" (8.8 x 1.2 x 0.3 cm) and have a hole at one end. Except for the tinned iron, each test strip is polished with 240 grit to remove burrs and irregularities from the faces and edges of the test strip. The test strips are bent at one end so that when assembled on a steel bolt the test strips do not touch one another (forming a fan-shaped assembly on the bolt).
