Oddy Test Specimens
The Oddy test is a type of air corrosion test that uses three small metal specimens (copper, silver and lead). This test is generally used where preservation or long-term archival storage is critical - for example, in museums. The Oddy test has some flexibility in test specimen size and thickness; 1/2" x 1" is a common size, with thickness ranging from 0.5 mm to 1.6 mm (0.020" to 0.062"). Metaspec provides pure lead, copper, and fine silver (99.9%) test coupons with an as-rolled or polished finish.Customized test specimens are available on request.
